Easily deploy and manage IoT services with edge computing for real-time asset monitoring, enabling user-tailored applications, secure connectivity, and seamless communication over any network.
IoT Gateways
An IoT gateway is the connection point between IoT devices in the field, such as smart sensors, and the networks or cloud platforms that manage them. IoT gateway devices aggregate sensor data and, when equipped with edge computing capabilities, also process, filter, or compress data locally. This reduces bandwidth and network-induced delays for mission-critical applications.
RAD provides secure IoT gateways with LoRaWAN, PLC, and Edge Computing, together with a central VPN aggregator, router, and firewall hub. These industrial IoT networking solutions might also be referred to as industrial ethernet switches.
RAD’s IoT gateways offer powerful capabilities to ensure easy deployment, high performance and efficient operations:
- A wide range of wired and wireless uplinks, including fiber, private networks (450 MHz, Anterix, CBRS), 4G/LTE, and 5G, allowing resilient and reliable communication channels for the smart IoT devices in the field
- A centralized network management ensures simplified deployment and maintenance of IoT devices at scale.
- State-of-the-art cyber security suite with secure boot, TPM 2.0, embedded firewall and encrypted connectivity.
- Edge computing with extended storage and RAM to run multiple Docker applications using a single gateway.
- Support for WiFi HaLow and LoRaWAN, with a built-in LoRa Network Server (LNS).
Different types of gateways—industrial, LoRaWAN, cellular, and edge computing—form the backbone of modern IoT networking solutions. By choosing the right combination, enterprises can secure their data, extend their networks, and prepare for a future where billions of devices must work seamlessly together.
