Fierce Innovation Awards: Energy Edition Announce Finalists, RAD Recognized
RAD announced today that is has been selected as a finalist in this year’s Fierce Innovation Awards: Energy Edition, a utility-reviewed awards program from the publishers of FierceEnergy and FierceSmartGrid. RAD was recognized as a finalist in the category of Cybersecurity.
RAD was selected as a finalist for its innovative, industry-leading SecFlow product family.
Finalists’ applications were reviewed by an exclusive panel of executives from major North American utilities including CenterPoint Energy, Commonwealth Edison, Duke Energy, Florida Power & Light, National Grid, Pacific Gas & Electric Company, Portland General Electric, and San Diego Gas & Electric. All applications were evaluated based on the following criteria: technology innovation, financial impact, market validation, compatibility with existing networks, end-user customer experience, and overall level of innovation.
“Being named as a finalist for this prestigious award is a significant sign of the industry’s recognition of RAD’s leadership in developing state-of-the art distributed security systems for power companies and their smart grids,” states Ulik Broida, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at RAD. “For that reason, SecFlow has been deployed globally by utilities and other operators of mission critical infrastructure, such as transportation systems, water and gas companies, as well as public safety and homeland security agencies,” he adds.
RAD’s SecFlow family, an element of its Service Assured Networking solution, is comprised of ruggedized Ethernet switches/routers with built-in security mechanisms designed specifically for SCADA applications. They combine functionalities that typically require separate devices and provide an efficient distributed security layer protecting from insider attacks using deep packet inspection.
