Overview

The Sales Engineer is a remote, customer-facing technical professional responsible for supporting the North America sales team through pre-sales activities, solution design, technical presentations, account support, and customer escalations. Based remotely, with a preference for candidates located in the Dallas, Denver, or New Jersey areas, the role partners closely with customers to deliver and support RAD’s networking solutions while identifying new business opportunities. 30-50% travel is required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-Sales support of the sales staff
  • Assisting in the creation and delivery of sales presentations.
  • Presenting technical information regarding current products and possibly future products.
  • Gathering product requirements to be included in possible future products.
  • Acting as a consultant on network design and implementation as it pertains to RAD products.

Account Support

  • Tracking all feature requests.
  • Tracking all issues in the software and/or hardware that are to be addressed in future releases.
  • Prioritizing both internally and with the customer severity levels and expected delivery of new code or patches.
  • High level support as part of a TAC escalation plan for critical problems
  • Onsite support for P1 issues
  • Executive briefings on the problem and resolution
  • Working with the customer to ensure the fix or workaround is sufficient.
  • Assist in the identification of new opportunities with assigned accounts.

Lab Trial support

  • Direct support with the assistance of the TAC POC engineer, all lab activity for assigned accounts.
  • Main point of contact for lab engineers and lab testers to for all technical information.
  • Responsible for Alpha / Beta trials and the control of such releases
  • 30-50% travel required.

Qualifications

  •  Candidates must have a BS degree or equivalent experience in a related technology field.
  • 5 + years of experience in providing networking solutions in a fast-paced high-technology environment, preferably in a customer facing systems/sales engineering role.
  • Detailed knowledge of TDM, packet network and wireless technology and products including Carrier Ethernet, SONET, PDH, Analogue voice, Security, virtualization, etc’.
  • Strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of Critical infrastructure verticals such as utilities (power companies, Oil & Gas, Water), transportation, Air Traffic control
  • Ability to handle and manage RFPs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
