Cellcom Israel is a leading telecom company. They provide mobile, business, residential, and wholesale services, as well as CellcomTV. They are operating in a very competitive market and so they were looking for solutions with the most advanced tools to roll out new services quickly and to ensure top performance for their customers.
With RAD, they found a rich portfolio that helps them both in delivering advanced business services, and revolutionizing the way they monitor and troubleshoot their mobile backhaul infrastructure and TV broadcast network.
They deployed RAD’s ETX-2 advanced demarcation devices for business services and use the service lifecycle toolset embedded in them to help deliver high quality, reliable and assured Carrier Ethernet services.
Cellcom also uses zero-touch provisioning that allows technicians to install any ETX in the field and trigger RADview management for configuration and “point and click” service definition. They found it to be very effective in ensuring that their services are up and running without a hitch. In addition, they use the embedded service activation tests to verify the correct configuration and service performance.
As an OTT TV player, Cellcom had to make sure that they deliver the best customer experience. To do that, they needed a smart way to constantly monitor their service performance and solve issues before they turn into problems that affect customers. They’ve been using the MiNID as a unique performance monitoring endpoint to identify and segment performance degradation in their IPTV broadcast network. They also use it to monitor connectivity to their international locations.
Cellcom Israel is the largest mobile operator in Israel, serving 2.8 Million subscribers. To ensure that the user experience they deliver is competitively superior, they decided to implement in the backhaul network an always-on performance monitoring. They needed a solution that would: 1. Support thousands of eNodeBs and 2. Provide deep visibility of their transport. They selected RAD’s PM Controller working opposite base station responders to continuously monitor key performance indicators. RAD has helped them add PM capabilities where needed with the pluggable MiNID probes. The RADview Performance Monitoring Portal shows the data collected by the PM Controller in intuitive graphs and reports, so that they can quickly take action where and when needed.
