RAD’s Social Responsibility and Commitment to the Community
RAD prides itself on being a driving power in Israel’s Start Up Nation and considers social responsibility a core value. We believe in giving back to the community and encourage employee engagement.

RAD organizes a multitude of activities that focus on technological education and the empowerment of disadvantaged youth in Israel’s social and geographical periphery. These activities are carried out in the form of financial donations by the company, as well as volunteer work by RAD employees, such as:
- Donating computer labs to boarding school. RAD purchases the equipment (computers, printers, scanners, furniture, A/C systems, etc.) while employee volunteers install the systems, instruct students and maintain ongoing contact with them to ensure the success of the project. 10-15 such projects are deployed each year, at an investment of US$500,000, to make the basic tools of PCs and the internet available to those who do not have access to them at home.
- Student scholarships in the fields of electronics, software development and computer sciences. 50-60 scholarships, at a value of US$250,000, are distributed each year to students without the appropriate financial resources.
- Computer labs and academic courses are donated to universities on an ongoing basis. Among others, in 2002 US$4.5 Million were donated directly by RAD founders, Yehuda and Zohar Zisapel, towards a new nanotechnology research center at the Technion in Haifa.
