RAD Brings Unlimited Services and Visibility to Mobile World Congress 2014
RAD, the industry leader in Service Assured solutions, will be exhibiting at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona a series of cutting-edge innovations that allow telcos to get ahead of their competition by rolling out new services faster, smarter and with a better return on investment (ROI).
Deployed at the customer premises, RAD’s innovative Distributed Network Functions Virtualization (D-NFV) solution integrates a Layer2/Layer3 FPGA-based NID and compute infrastructure with a standard x86 server.
RAD’s ETX-2, a small form-factor demarcation and performance monitoring device, provides traffic engineering and end-to-end performance monitoring for both Layer 2 (Y.1731) and Layer 3 (TWAMP) services.
MiNID is RAD’s unique SFP sleeve. Equipped with comprehensive NID capabilities, it immediately interworks with any standard SFP inserted into it, instantly empowering existing networks, such as small cells, routers and DSLAMs, with Carrier Ethernet capability.
Finally, RAD will be highlighting its Service Assured mobile demarcation solution, which features a built in GPS receiver and highly accurate IEEE1588 Grandmaster timing and synchronization management. By situating accurate timing at the last aggregation point in LTE and LTE Advanced (LTE-A) networks, RAD minimizes hop-by-hop upgrade investments and frees operators from the complex and expensive burden of having to bring GPS to every tower and small cell.
Reduces Churn and Improves Business Performance
“What all of these innovations have in common is that they increase service agility, generate faster time-to-market for new revenue-enhancing services, improve operational efficiency, slash OpEx and integration costs and dramatically reduce the need for repeated on-site technician visits, cut TCO, and yield a much better ROI,” explains Ulik Broida, RAD’s Vice President of Marketing. “A Carrier Ethernet network with advanced service demarcation and management improves the Quality of Experience (QoE) of the end customer and, in so doing, reduces churn and improves business performance.”
Throughout the show, RAD will conduct live public demonstrations of both its D-NFV solution and the MiNID in Hall 2, G50.
