WLAN ADSL2 + VoIP CPE

IPVgate-20L: WLAN ADSL2+ VoIP CPE

Product Summary

The IPVgate-20L WLAN ADSL2+ VoIP CPE is an analog gateway deployed by service providers at the customer premises to provide VoIP services to Small Office Home Office (SOHO) and residential subscribers with ADSL2+ or Ethernet connections.

When the IPVgate-20L is deployed with the IPVsuite-200, RAD’s Class 5 SIP softswitch with built-in management and provisioning, it supports seamless VoIP service with remote management, saving on Opex and ensuring low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

RAD’s WLAN ADSL2+ VoIP CPE is a “one-box solution,” providing cost-cutting SIP VoIP telephony service to SOHO and residential subscribers, in addition to broadband access, local area networking (LAN), and WLAN by IEEE 802.11b and 802.11g standard wireless router.

Employing superior Quality of Service (QoS) technology, the gateway connects SOHO and residential analog telephones, fax machines, Point-of- Sale (POS), and PBXs to the VoIP service provider. Using the IPVgate-20L’s dual LAN and Wi-Fi connectivity, Internet access can be shared by in the SOHO environment by multiple terminals and wireless users.

The IPVgate-20L WLAN ADSL2+ VoIP CPE is fully interoperable with leading SIP softswitches and SIP servers.

Further Product Information

IPVgate-20L WLAN ADSL2+ VoIP CPE is an intelligent VoIP gateway designed for the voice and data access requirements of SOHO subscribers with ADSL2+ or Ethernet connectivity. IPVgate-20L is a SIP-based IP telephony product that is interoperable with any SIP device.

Engineered for superior Quality of Service, the IPVgate-20L WLAN ADSL2+ VoIP CPE provides full telephone line replacement to allow fast and reliable access of SOHO subscribers to next-generation VoIP services.

The IPVgate-20L handles telephony, Internet access and secure networking (internal network LAN, switching, routing, and WAN) using an integrated ADSL2+ modem.

Subscribers connected to a VoIP service by the IPVgate-20L benefit from advanced Class 5 telephony features, including caller ID, call on-hold, call waiting and transfer.

The product features a built-in ADSL2+ modem, router and firewall. Fax machines connected to this analog VoIP CPE also benefit from high-quality T.38 support, ensuring reliable fax transmissions.

Wireless router

Using the IPVgate-20L’s WLAN connectivity, Internet access can be shared in the SOHO environment by wireless users and terminals. The deviceoperates in the 2.4 GHz rangeand supports WLAN standards IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.11g.

Security in the WLAN is ensured via encryption mechanisms, including WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy), WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) and WPA2. Computers and devices equipped with a WLAN adapter can be connected wirelessly.

QoS mechanisms

The IPVgate-20L WLAN ADSL+ VoIP CPE provide subscribers with multilayered Quality of Service (QoS) to ensure superior VoIP service. The device’s QoS router performs Type of Service (ToS) tagging to assign priority to VoIP packet traffic.

When VoIP calls are in progress, the QoS router performs dynamic bandwidth management with traffic shaping, prioritizing the SOHO and residential data communications resources for telephony.

Remote troubleshooting

The IPVgate-20L generates call and ADSL line quality information that is transmitted to the RADview-SC/IPV IP telephony management system in the VoIP service provider’s central office to analyze QoS of the service. The management system is an integral part of RAD’s IPVsuite-200 SIP softswitch.

Remote troubleshooting ensures users Quality of Experience and reduces truck rolls, keeping Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to a minimum.

Failsafe Support

When the IPVgate-20L is supplied with an integrated ADSL2+ modem, it has a failsafe mechanism whereby it can reroute all voice and data traffic to another line through a backup router in the event of an ADSL failure. When ADSL service restarts, the VoIP CPE reverts back to the original ADSL connection.
