RAD’s Service Assured Networking Solution Deployed Along Major Philippine Expressway

RAD, the leader in cyber-secure, critical-infrastructure communications for transportation systems, has announced that Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC) has chosen one of its Service Assured Networking (SAN) solutions to enable voice, video and data transmission along the world class North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), which connects Metro Manila with two northern Philippine provinces.

The specific SAN solution being deployed for the operational WAN application uses RAD’s Megaplex-4 multiservice networking platform and the RADview next generation management system to simultaneously deliver both legacy and IP services over TDM and packet switched infrastructure. The solution also fits high availability requirements, featuring complete hardware, service and system redundancy to ensure maximum service uptime.

The North Luzon Expressway is one of the largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the Philippines. It features fully computerized management systems for a wide variety of needs, including toll collection, traffic management and intelligent transport systems. “RAD’s SAN solution dramatically reduces both CapEx and OpEx by simultaneously supporting both SDH and Ethernet rings,” Campos adds.
