RAD Exhibits its Complete Service Assured Access Solution for End-to-End Performance Monitoring over Ethernet/IP Core Networks
At the Second International Ethernet Forum in Moscow RAD will be exhibiting its Service Assured Access solution, now enhanced to extend its reach across both Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks.
“Carrier Ethernet is now taking off in Russia, but there is already a huge installed base of IP infrastructure used to deliver services across an enormous geographic area,” states Yaron Shilo, Solutions Manager for RAD’s Service Provider Line of Business. “By deploying RAD’s Service Assured Access solutions, however, Russian service providers can obtain a complete set of advanced performance monitoring tools that can be deployed simultaneously across both,” he explains. “The result will be a significant reduction in OpEx expenditures and the creation of major new revenue streams.”
“To accomplish this, RAD has now added support for Layer 3 monitoring capabilities, such as TWAMP and IP/UDP-level loopbacks, to its Service Assured Access solution” This enables end-to-end service visibility across various IP network elements, ensuring IP service monitoring all the way to the IP core. The service monitoring includes KPI (Key Performance Indicators) for both Layer 2 and Layer 3 services. This both reduces TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) by lowering OpEx and extends network scenarios to include hybrid L2/L3 service offerings.
“Each component of RAD’s Service Assured Access solution is designed to cut costs and add value throughout the service lifecycle,” Shilo concludes. “Retail providers of business Ethernet services, international service providers, wholesale providers, mobile operators leasing backhaul networks, and cloud providers will all stand to benefit.”
“Intelligent Network Demarcation for Assurance of Service Quality”
Shilo will address the plenary session of the Second International Ethernet Forum on the subject of “Intelligent Network Demarcation for Assurance of Service Quality.”
During his presentation he will discuss why service assurance is beneficial for both networks and services, review the tools that are required to implement service assurance and explain why these capabilities are best located at the customer premises.
RAD customers in Russia include Beeline, MegaFon, MPS, Novosibirsk Energo, Ural Energosoyuz, ORVD, and Russian Railways (RZD).
The Second International Ethernet Forum 2013 will be held in Moscow on October 24.
