RAD to Exhibit Award-Winning Ethernet Service Aggregation Platform and Finger-Sized Micro NID at Carrier Ethernet APAC

At Carrier Ethernet APAC, RAD Data Communications will unveil two new unique access solutions to the growing Asia-Pacific Carrier Ethernet market that significantly reduce expenses for carriers and service providers.

RAD’s ETX-5300A Ethernet Service Aggregation Platform features an extensive service assurance toolset with an unsurpassed suite of advanced timing-over-packet synchronization technologies, including a 1588 grandmaster clock. This enables it to serve as a single cost-saving instrument for empowering the convergence of 10GbE business and mobile network services over the same infrastructure, as well as to provide timing-over-packet services in wholesale networks. The ETX-5300A won a Best Carrier Ethernet EMEA Award in September at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress.

Carrier Ethernet APAC will also be the venue for the Asia-Pacific premier of RAD’s new Micro Network Interface Device (MiNID), an intelligent finger-sized device that plugs into the SFP cage of any manufacturer’s host unit. When an SFP device is inserted into the patent-pending MiNID sleeve, it is transformed into a Carrier Ethernet demarcation and SLA verification device for remote service monitoring and fault isolation. This simple solution eliminates the costly and bulky alternative scenario of deploying dedicated equipment for this purpose. The MiNID is ideal for small cell backhaul applications, as well as virtual private networks and carrier-wholesale provider network termination.

Both the ETX-5300A and MiNID are shortlisted for Carrier Ethernet APAC awards, which will be presented during the show, to be held in Hong Kong from December 3-5.

In addition, Amir Karo, RAD’s Vice President of Marketing, will speak at the conference on “Service OAM in Global Converged Operator Networks” on Wednesday, December 5.
