RAD Launches High Capacity Wireless Transport Solution
Carrier-Class Airmux-400 Multiplexer Provides 100 Mbps of Bandwidth for
Cellular Backhaul and Broadband Access
RAD Data Communications, the award-winning manufacturer of innovative access solutions, has released Version 2.2 of its Airmux-400 wireless multiplexer, which provides a whopping aggregate throughput of 100 Mbps in order to transport up to 16 E1s/T1s of native TDM service, in addition to native broadband Ethernet.
“This unprecedented capacity will turn the carrier-class Airmux-400 into a classical solution for cellular backhaul and data-hungry broadband applications such as those required by Internet Service Providers (ISPs),” predicts Toby Korall, Senior Product Line Manager at RAD Data Communications. “Offered at a competitive price, the Airmux-400 is poised to become an unbeatable way to reduce costs and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).”
When ordered without E1 ports, the entire throughput of the Airmux-400 can be utilized to provide a broadband wireless solution on enterprise campuses. “In campus environments, in which a number of separate buildings located in close proximity have to be connected over the same network, as well as in distributed campus environments, in which different installations are scattered throughout a metropolitan area, the Airmux-400 is ideal because it can transport LAN-to-LAN traffic as well as other vital enterprise applications, such video surveillance and Internet access,” Korall notes.
Version 2.2 of the Airmux-400 combines advanced OFDM and MIMO technologies, and its unique multi-band feature supports both 2.x and 5.x GHz frequency bands in one radio platform. Operating at ranges of up to 120 km (75 miles), the Airmux-400 is extremely simple to install and maintain. The solution’s robust air interference and advanced technology features enable operation even in non line-of-sight environments and high-interference scenarios.
