RAD Receives ISO 27001:2007 Certification for its Information Security Management System

RAD Data Communications has become one of the first vendors in the telecommunications industry to receive SI ISO 27001:2007 certification for its information security management system.

The ISO 27001 standard confirms that RAD has systematically examined its information security risks, taking account of the threats, vulnerabilities and impacts, and designed and implemented a coherent and comprehensive suite of information security controls and other forms of risk treatment. In addition, the standard requires RAD to adopt a management process to ensure that information security controls will continue to meet its information security needs on an ongoing basis.

RAD has a long record of compliance with international quality standards. Committed to protecting the environment, the company holds ISO 14001:1996 and ISO 14001:2004 certification for its comprehensive environmental management system, guaranteeing that it conducts its operations in a manner that is environmentally responsible. In has also been awarded ISO 9001:1994, ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 9001:2002 certification for its quality management system.

In addition, all RAD products sold in the European Union (EU) comply with relevant EU directives, such as the EMC (89/336/EC), the LVD (73/23/EC), the R&TTE (99/5/EC), the ROHS (2002/95/EC) and WEEE (2002/96/EC). RAD has also long been active in ENC and safety and is well acquainted with international requirements. Each new product must meet EN-55022 requirements (which also cover FCC Part 15) for EMC and EN-60950 requirements (which also cover most of the American UL-1950 requirements) for safety. Since 1994, this policy has been implemented for all new products, and RAD invests heavily in pre-compliance and compliance testing.
