Highway Communications over SHDSL.bis

Your Needs:

A cost-effective way to connect remote monitoring traffic cameras and information systems along highway routes over existing DSL lines.

Our Solution:

RAD’s ASMi-54 is an economical, managed SHDSL.bis modem that offers Ethernet connectivity based on multi-pair bonding technology. It can be deployed in ring and multi-drop topologies that typify transportation networks. Using advanced SHDSL.bis technology, the ASMi-54 reaches a data rate of up to 11.4 Mbps over a single pair, or 22.8 over eight wire using standard EFM bonding.

Benefits:

  • Use existing copper DSL infrastructure for high-capacity Ethernet connectivity
  • Deploy in ring or multi-drop topologies that match your highway infrastructure
  • Supports QoS priority queues for differentiated service priorities
  • Each unit has 4 Ethernet ports eliminating the need for an external switch
