Enable IP-RAN backhaul over DSL to reduce Last Mile transport costs and connect to new packet-switched networks over ADSL2+, SHDSL and SHDSL.bis links.
Our Solution
RAD’s DSL cell-site gateways and SHDSL.bis modems enable mobile operators and transport providers to substantially reduce backhaul costs by leveraging wholesale xDSL deployments and widely available IP DSLAMs to carry GSM and UMTS traffic over PSNs. Using EFM (Ethernet in the First Mile) bonding, RAD’s IP-RAN backhaul over DSL solutions combine two, three or four SHDSL or SHDSL.bis pairs into a single data stream, with a combined data rate of up to 9.2 Mbps or 22 Mbps, respectively.
Benefits:
Pseudowire emulation and accurate clock recovery to ensure quality delivery of all traffic types
Support service extension in rural areas with direct point-to-point connections
QoS capabilities for service differentiation
EFM bonding enables high data rates over multiple copper pairs with fail-over protection for service resiliency
