FOM-6A is an asynchronous miniature fiber optic modem used for local data distribution, connecting full or half duplex async computers and terminals. A pair of FOM-6A asynchronous fiber optic modems ensures integrity of data transmission over multimode fiber optic cables for distances up to 3 km (1.9 miles) at data rates up to 19.2 kbps.
Innovative circuitry allows the modem to operate without external power, by drawing low power from the DTE data and control signals.
The FOM-6A has a V.24/RS-232 interface and is available with either a male or female integral 25-pin connector.
